I introduced Scott to the group and turned the meeting over to him. He provided us with books on Diabetes and brocures on the newest glucometer offered by Lifescan. This glucometer offers us an alternative sight such as our forearms for the blood sample. This machine and the strips use a noticible less amout of blood for its readings. He demonstrated the use of the One Touch Fast Take glucometer. It will indicate immediately whether or not you have enough blood on the testing strip. We were all interested in this newest testing procedure. Scott has since sent me a few coupons for the glucometer to be redeemed at Walmart. Before closing, we acknowledged Dennis Bush's 54th birthday. He was kind enough to bring a wonderful dessert (2) cake for us, and I do have the receipe for those of you interested. It's nice to eat a dessert and not feel guilty about the calories and it was delicious.

I Passed out some questions that I wanted everyone to fill out for our next meeting. We have discussed the day and time and place. We will meet at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital Meeting Room at 6PM on November 16th which is the third Thursday of the month. Next month we will discuss what is a good day for us to meet considering that Christmas is eminent.

After the meeting we once again took the time to get to know one another and just visit.
