A support group is in operation to help insulin diabetics, espically those who have had diabetes more than 20 years.

Summary for August 22, 2000 Meeting
Our second support meeting of insulin dependent diabetics was held at the Diabetic Management and Would Care Center associated with Rio Grande Regional Hospital at 6 pm.
We had several new people with diabetes come to our meeting
Our special speaker was Linda Quattrone. Shee reviewed the different types of insulin and their longivity. She then presented the pros for the use of the insulin pump.
Dennis Bush is a 40 year survivor as an insulin dependent diabetic. He has been schooled in the use of the insulin pump and shared everything with us...including allowing us to see the sight he used to place the needle to connect with the pump.
Our next meeting will be held in the same location and the same time on Sept. 14, 2000.
