First Insulin Survivors

A support group is being organized to help insulin diabetics, espically those who have had diabetes more than 20 years.

Summary for July 26, 2000 Meeting
Our first meeting brought together 7 insulin dependent diabetics to talk to one another about the many and various problems we face daily with our disease.
One of the comments made was that he was delighted to be among this group, because it was very uplifting... not depressing.
Linda Quattrone was representing the Wound Care Center associated with Rio Grande Regional Hospital. AS a nurse with super qualifications in diabetic complications, she answered many questions that the group asked.
Attending the meeting were: Isabel Brown, John Goode, Coty Herrera, Ted Liscano, Sonia Olivarez (our Spanish translator) Griselda Velazquez and myself, Linda Unland Quinn.
Our next meeting is scheduled for August 22, 2000 at 222 Ridge Road, Suite 105 in McAllen, TX at 6:00 pm with our quest speaker being Linda Quattrone. The subject most discussed will be an insulin pump.
